The XWA; Q&A:
Mr. David Babylon, we here at the XWA office would like to bring an up Close and Personal interview to the many fans of the independent wrestling scene and you have been chosen as XWAs first of many to come.
1. To start, can you tell us about your wrestling back ground, what influenced you to enter the world of wrestling? Who influences you today?
I grew up watching wrestling in New York so mainly WWF(E). I loved guys like Randy Savage, Ted Dibiase Shawn Micheals and The Ultimate Warrior. Today I'm heavily influenced by alot of international wrestling. Japanese and Mexican wrestling for the most part. I tould say Jushin "Thunder" Lyger is my biggest influence. As far as American wrestling goes I'd have to say Eddie Guerrero. He is the best wrerstler in the ring today in my opinion.
2. What was it like the first time you stepped into the ring in front of a live crowd?
It was nuts. I was nervous but the crowd recieved me well so it was nuts, I got into it.
3. How did the crowd react to you that first time?
Like I said they recieved me very well. I was shocked that people gave me the reaction I got. 4. My match against Billy Fives is my favorite. Just overall the best match I've been a part of. The TLC match from IPW Rage in the Cage is a close second tied with my match with Sedrick Strong from the JPC 2003.
4. What do you consider to be your best matches?
Billy Fives hands down. I want to beat him, I want to be better so that drives me.
5. What opponent brings out the best in you?
No answer really.
6. Your worst?
...
7. What is your opinion of the current wrestling scene here in Florida?
blah. MLW seems to be doing it right but we'll see. It seems to be stuck in a certain mindset. Not sure realy why. Overall its just....blah. Maybe being so far removed down here from the rest of the country is the reason. Not sure why realy though.
8. What would you like to see more of in Indy wrestling here in Florida?
Variety and Athletacism.
9. Where do you see yourself a year from now?
A million places. None are for sure.
10. Any final thoughts for those who are training now to those who are considering to enter this sport?
Do it for yourself becasue you love it. Don't do it for a reason other than love of the business. There are alot of shitty people you'll encounter and if you do it for the wrong reasons they will drive you mad. If you do it for yourself only you determine yoru fate.
